We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday. Since Auburn didn't get to play in a bowl game, Chris actually got more time off for Christmas so we were able to visit his family in Decatur and my family in Blountsville. Jeremy, Jeni, Kevin and Virginia were all able to make the trip to Decatur... along with all 4 Long dogs... so we all had a great time visiting with Grandmother and Granddad Hale and Mom and Dad Long. Chad, Lauren and Benjamin all make the trip from Baton Rouge and stayed in Bville for several days. As always, we love playing with our precious little nephew. He can say absolutely anything now and will mock whatever he hears. He can "read" most of his books and knew many of the words to the most popular Christmas carols. He is definitely a genius!!!
We had a relaxing New Year's Day with lots of football. We spent NYE at the Miller's playing Rock Band and watching baby Ella walk. She has just learned to take 5-6 steps at a time and is a joy to observe. Of course we cooked the annual black-eyed peas for New Years, along with mashed potatoes, ham, and cornbread. Yum! Yum! Then it was back to work and no more fun vacation for the Longs!
For any of you who haven't heard as of yet, we are having a baby GIRL! Chris and I are very excited and cannot wait till the end of May! :) We have already chosen a name and plan to call her "Anna Grace". It is not a family name, just a name we both really like that I had picked out since I was about 13 or 14 years old. We have chosen her bedding. It is called Lollipops and Roses and is pale pink, cream, and tan. It is pretty "fru-fru", but Chris says we should go all out since this could be our only girl... it didn't take much convincing me. Also, last night we ordered her furniture, so we are well on our way to decorating the nursery. The paint has not yet been determined but I am sure we will get on that as soon as recruiting ends.
I have my next appt on Friday and then another ultrasound on Monday, the 12th. We are looking forward to seeing our little princess then. I will try to post a pic from the ultrasound if I can figure out how to do that... April, I may need your help!
