We are still alive...

Okay so it has been an eternity since I have updated our blog. Despite encouragement from many of my best friends, I found excuses to avoid the blog thing. I was thinking we didn't really have anything to blog about... who was I kidding?
So since March, here are a few things going one with the Long family.
- In April, I went back to work- just 7 1/2 short weeks following my surgery... that has been interesting. The drive has been difficult at times and sitting in the car all the time is probably not the best thing for my back, but I am making it. I am still in PT and trying my best to get healthy.
- Also in April, my precious nephew Benjamin turned 1 year old. He is such a delight to be around. I love him dearly and miss him terribly between visits because he lives in Baton Rouge, LA.
- In May, I turned 29... getting ever so close to the BIG 3-0...
- In June, Chris went to Orlando for 3 weeks to Flight Safety and got a new type rating for the AU airplanes. I hated him being gone for 3 weeks at once... I am spoiled by him being home alot!
- In July, we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. I cannot believe that we have been married 6 years already! Time flies and I couldn't be happier with my loving, caring, adorable husband! Also, Chris' little brother, Kevin and his sweet Virginia got married the day before our Anniversary so that was a fun family event. The wedding was beautiful and Chris and I were both honored to be a part of their special day.
-In August, we took a trip to Savannah, GA. I had always wanted to visit Savannah. We stayed in a precious B&B and the first part of our trip was relaxing and fun. About halfway through, we had an adventure at the beach on Tybee Island and lost the car keys (I had a rental car from work so we only had one set of keys). We think the keys are somewhere in the sand on Tybee... but who knows? That meant we were locked out of the car, my purse and our $$ was inside of it, and we had no way back to the B&B- 30 miles away. Once we called for a ride, and waited an extra day for Enterprise to open- we thought we were back on track. We ended up having to stay an extra day to get everything back with the car... which sounds fun until I tell you that I got food poisoning the last night. It was ugly! Needless to say, we are not planning to visit Savannah again. It is a beautiful place, but not the place for us!
-In September, we found out that we are expecting our first child. Due date is May 30th. We are so excited and anxious for our little one. I have had a difficult time with morning sickness, but we hope it is almost gone now that I am right at 12 weeks.
Well that is enough update for now... I will write more about our exciting baby news later.

Still Recovering...
Okay, so now I have caught the "sickness" that Chris had. I have been trying to rid this cold/virus for the last several days and haven't been able to leave the house. I have tried unsuccessfully to upload my Smilebox creations of our little nephew so that all can see him and his cuteness. I will keep trying until you see those on our page too. Chris is not impressed so far with the blog. None of his friends have a blog so he really doesn't get the point. I think we will be able to keep up with everyone better with it though, so make my wish come true and keep coming back to our page for more. Please share your page with us and send us notes so we can keep in touch!
War Eagle!

Recovering.....

As many of you know, I am recovering from back surgery and the doctors say I am doing well. I am finally able to move around and even go out of the house some... so that is exciting! Chris has been sick again- with a really rough cold this time. We were thinking he might be catching the flu, but he seems to be turning the corner, so hopefully it is just a really bad cold. Sam is good. He is wondering what has happened to his fun-loving parents. He has been depressed some I think because he hasn't been going for walks regularly since his "dad" got sick.
We are excited that spring football practice has begun and the countdown is on to the first football game this fall. It will be here very soon. WAR EAGLE!
Until next time... May God guide your steps and guard your hearts!

With Love,
Candy
